Customized 1:1 Book Proposal Coaching
In my customized coaching program, I take writers through each critical step of the book proposal development process. This 1:1 coaching is a creative, collaborative, generative process. It’s intense — and fun!
The four-step process starts with a coaching session I call What’s Your Big Idea? Nail It Now because unless you are crystal clear on your idea, doing the next three steps are a waste of time. As James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, says, “Most people think they lack motivation when really they lack clarity.”
I work best with experts, educators, and entrepreneurs who are already out there spreading their message to a loyal audience and need guidance on how to write a book. They’re passionate about their topic and know the power of high-touch, high-level coaching.
Step 1: What’s Your Big Idea? Nail It Now Session
You either have a book idea worth investing in — or you don’t.
In my Nail It Now session, you’ll answer questions about your motivation, your goals, and your book idea, and you’ll share some pages of your work. I will give you a clear understanding of your project’s viability in the marketplace and the steps you need to take to get there. You’ll come away with the confidence you need to move forward or the clarity you need to walk away.
If I don’t think your idea will be commercially viable, I will tell you, give you evidence for my evaluation, and do it all with compassion. It’s called tough love and for me, it’s not just a catchy phrase: It’s how I do business. If you are looking for someone to blindly tell you that your work is great, I’m not the coach for you.
No one has a crystal ball, but I have spent 30+ years in the publishing industry and I have a stellar track record of success. You can read some of my client success stories HERE.
The What’s Your Big Idea? Nail It Now Session is $6,500. Before we book it, I want to make sure I can add value to your project and I want you to be equally sure about me. Click the button below to tell me a bit about your project and if it looks like I can help you, we’ll book a 15-minute zoom call to make sure we’re a good fit.

“Every writer needs someone who can pinpoint what’s working, what isn’t, and how to remedy it. For me, that person is the indefatigable, insightful, beautifully brutally honest Jennie Nash. While she never pulls punches (after all, you’re paying her not to), Jennie is always encouraging, empathetic, and compassionate – not to mention spot-on. And very fast.”
—Lisa Cron, author of Wired for Story, Story Genius, and Story or Die
What happens after the What’s Your Big Idea? Nail It Now Session?
If your idea is commercially viable and I believe I can add value to your project, you will be invited to the next steps of my four-part process. Each is a separate package, designed to accomplish a specific goal. You don’t have to do them all, but they must be done in order. For details on all four steps, click HERE.
Step 2: The Whole Book Deep Dive. Define every element of the book so you can visualize it on the shelf, picture it in the marketplace, and feel confident in your message and your voice. This intensive work is the most difficult part of writing a book — and the part most writers get wrong.
Step 3: The Pitch Perfect Proposal. Convince agents and acquisition editors that they should invest in your book by making a compelling case for your project. Write sample chapters that prove you can pull off what you promise and get every element of your proposal in pitch-perfect shape.
Step 4: The Ready, Set, Pitch Package. Make a strategic plan to give your pitch the best chance for success, then get support to minimize stress and overwhelm during the pitch process. This step includes an 18-lesson self-paced video course that demystifies the pitch process and five months of support.
