One of my clients is the sibling of a famous chef. She shared with me some of his favorite Thanksgiving recipes. And then she wrote this:    “I noticed that, like you, he says that vegetables (protagonists) need bruising to come to their full flavor.  The secrets of fiction are in food!”    This line made me beam! Protagonist vegetables! Secrets shared by fiction and food! What a totally wonderful thought – and fitting, too, because writers, like chefs, are in the business of delighting people, filling them up, and making the world a better place.   Thanks to each of you for doing this good and noble work, and for bringing me along on your writing journey.
